The Sun

Victoria Newton
Editor in Chief
The Sun

"The Sun has sat right at the heart of the national conversation for over 50 years. That conversation has changed and evolved, and so has The Sun. We celebrate life in all its glory, always making it easier to live it to the max. We bring energy and entertainment to everyone, every day. And just as importantly, we do everything we do with soul. By caring for what modern Britain cares about, standing up for what matters, holding the powerful to account on the nation’s behalf, and giving a hand."

Our History

The Sun has a long history of innovation and campaigning for change. The first issue of The Sun, published in tabloid format and under the ownership of Rupert Murdoch, was on November 17 1969. The Sun soon became the people's paper, sitting right at the heart of the national conversation.
