The Times won three awards in this morning’s Comment Awards from Editorial Intelligence.

The News UK title picked up a quartet of gongs in the annual celebration in London of the UK’s best comment writing.

Matthew Syed said it was a “huge honour” to land the Sports Commentator of the Year accolade.

Ed Conway emerged triumphant in the Economics Commentator of the Year category and The Times columnist Libby Purves received the Chair’s Choice Award.
