This Sunday nominations open for Sportswomen of the Year Awards…

The 2018 Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards kicks-off the nationwide call for public nominations this Sunday (9th September).

The Awards, now in their 31st year, have led the way in recognising and celebrating the outstanding contribution to sport made by elite performers, coaches, administrators, community volunteers and inspirational women. And this is the public’s opportunity to nominate their favourite sportswomen of the past nine months.

For the next two weeks, the British public are invited to submit nominations for the seven categories at www.sportswomenoftheyear.co.uk

Alex Butler, Sports Editor, The Sunday Times said: The Sunday Times has led the way in highlighting women's sport for more than 30 years. The sportswomen awards are a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions made to sport by elite performers, coaches, administrators and grassroots volunteers. It's also a great opportunity for our readers to join in those celebrations by nominating contenders.”

Eleanor Mills, Editorial Director of The Sunday Times and Editor Sunday Times Magazine, said: “We’re delighted to continue to celebrate the immense strength and iron determination of successful women in sport. These awards are a fantastic opportunity to give Britain's female superstars the recognition they deserve, and we are also thankful to our brilliant panel of inspiring judges. ”
