The award-winning talkRADIO show Badass Women's Hour XL is partnering with HQ, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, to create its first ever book club. The co-creators of Diversity in Media award-winning Badass Women’s Hour XL, Harriet Minter, Natalie Campbell and Emma Sexton, will interview a different HQ author on their radio show every month from November 2018. An extended version will be available to download immediately after the radio show on the Badass Women’s Hour podcast.
Due for broadcast at 7pm – 10pm on the 10th November 2018, the launch episode will feature Christina Dalcher the author of feminist dystopia, VOX. Fifty free audio books, available via Kobo, will be simultaneously offered on The Badass Women’s Hour social channels.
Harriet Minter said: “Badass Women's Hour are incredibly excited to bring our love of fire-starting conversations to some of HQ’s most exciting authors. Through our talkRADIO show and podcast we champion brilliant, diverse and badass women who are changing the world. The books we choose for Badass Bookclub will do the same. We want to create conversations that challenge, inform and inspire, and through the Badass Bookclub we know we'll be able to take these conversations even further.”
Lisa Milton said: “At HQ we try to always think about our audience first. Our readers are smart, curious women. They need to fit books into their busy lives so finding new ways for them to discover and consume books is crucial. What better way to do so than by creating a book club with the Badass radio show and podcast? We share so many values, and we are both committed to the same audience. I can’t wait for this to start.”
HQ authors lined-up for interview on future episodes include; Sunday Times bestselling author of I Invited Her In Adele Parks, co-creator of the Woman’s Equality Party and author of Attack of the Fifty Foot Women, Catherine Mayer, TV presenter and author of Diversify June Sarpong, and multi-million-copy-selling author of Beauty of the Wolf, Sally Gardner.
