The Sunday Times scooped three gongs at last night’s Travel Media Awards.

The winners were announced at a glitzy ceremony at the ME London Hotel with over 250 people present.

The evening saw 20 publications, broadcasters, journalists and photographers awarded prestigious trophies.

The Sunday Times Travel Magazine won the coveted consumer travel publication of the year, with The Sunday Times also successful in the national broadsheet newspaper travel section of the year.

Sergio Villalba claimed the third award in the travel and tourism photography section for ‘British Virgin Islands: Learning the ropes’ in The Sunday Times Travel Magazine.

The Sunday Times Travel Magazine editor Ed Grenby said "It's a real thrill to retain our title as Consumer Travel Publication of the Year. Winning two years on the trot shows that these awards aren't just handed out to whoever's 'turn' it is, but that they're a genuine reflection of the hard work and talent of the team. Along with the Travel & Tourism Photography Award we picked up last night -- and the writing awards we've won in the last few weeks -- this is a tribute to the magazine's strength in depth."
The Sunday Times travel editor Stephen Bleach added "It's been a great year for Sunday Times Travel. This tops it off nicely."
