Sinead McIntyre has been announced as the new Editor of The Sun on Sunday’s popular fashion, beauty and lifestyle supplement Fabulous Magazine, after almost two years as Acting Editor.
McIntrye spent six years at The Daily Mail before joining Fabulous in 2008 - just two months after the title was launched.
Over seven years, Fabulous has become renowned for landing interviews with big name celebrities including Ed Sheeran, Cheryl Cole and One Direction. The title’s exclusive with TV host Susanna Reid made national headlines, when the star spoke candidly about the breakdown of her marriage.
McIntyre began working at the title in the role of Features Writer, moving through the ranks to become Features Editor and Deputy Editor.
Throughout her time at Fabulous, McIntyre has witnessed the magazine’s digital presence rapidly expand, gathering a huge following on Twitter and Facebook.
She believes the popularity of the title comes down to the fact that it gives readers a weekly fix of content to rival a monthly glossy magazine.
McIntrye said :
With its blend of affordable high street fashion, celebrity interviews and features relevant to today's women, the title is hugely valuable when it comes to driving sales – both in print and digital – to that ever-important female audience. I am looking forward to being a part of that.
Sinead succeeds Rachel Richardson, who has left the company after 12 years.
