The New Me 12-week programme of diet, exercise and positive therapy starts on 12 January and costs just £35 – www.newme.co.uk
News UK, publisher of The Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times, has launched a brand new healthy living and diet website - Newme.co.uk. It follows on from a range of innovative commercial initiatives providing best-in-class services to readers, from Sun Money Transfer and Sun Bingo to Times Tutorials.
Developed following consultation with Sun readers, many of whom struggled to keep the weight off long-term following existing diet plans, New Me offers an alternative way to stay healthy and maintain a sustainable weight loss.
All subscribers will receive a personalised 12-week weight loss programme including a weekly eating plan that caters for allergies and food preferences, recipes for the week and the ability to print off a shopping list to take the supermarket. They will also receive a fitness plan to suit them, ranging from a simple walk and tone programme, to a more challenging regime with weights, resistance and cardio.
A subscription to New Me is priced at just £35 for a 12-week programme, working out at less than £3 a week, making it considerably cheaper than other slimming clubs. Subscribers to Sun+ (The Sun’s digital bundle) can sign up for just £25. As an added incentive, members who sign up this week will be entered into a draw to win £1,000 of Tesco vouchers.
New Me is backed by a team of experts who will be available to offer advice to subscribers throughout their weight loss journey: psychologist Dr Christy Fergusson, personal trainer Nicki Waterman, nutritionist Amanda Ursell, and health expert Dr Carol Cooper.
Dr Christy Fergusson, a qualified health psychologist and nutritional therapist who spends her time coaching people to change their bad food habits, said:
It is possible to change how you feel about food. New Me will teach people how food can make you look good and feel fantastic
Neil Martin, Business Development Director for News UK, says:
We are delighted to be pioneering the New Me diet and exercise programme, which promises to be one that our readers will not only enjoy doing, but one that also achieves long-term positive results. This is another development in our company plan to invest in new products and business opportunities using our famous brands.
New Me will run a series of programmes throughout the year, with the first one starting on Monday 12th January, when all dieters will begin their plan at the same time. It means subscribers are not alone on their dieting journey and get to exchange ideas and gain support from fellow dieters in the online community.
