News UK has today launched its Sun Racing app, which unites the title’s first-class horse racing content with a feature-rich betting platform.
The free to use app is a one-stop-shop, offering the best content in a simple and accessible way.
Punters will be able to place bets, get the best odds, race cards, predictions, create a watch list as well as soak up analysis, news stories and columns from new Sun Racing ambassadors, ITV and Sky Sports Racing's Matt Chapman and two-time Silk Series champion Megan Nicholls.
It is designed for mainstream race fans: from casual flutterers to knowledgeable horse racing veterans.
The bets are offered through an affiliate model, with Sun Racing’s five partners: Betway, Coral, Ladbrokes, William Hill and Unibet.
James Garmston, director of Sun Racing said: “We want Sun Racing to bring a new digital life to the industry, with a betting product that is built for the mainstream race fan and bettor. Horse racing is moving on and Sun Racing will deliver for the modern punter.
“We want to give the power to the punter and do all of the hard graft for them, whatever their level. It’s no jargon, we get to the heart of what people need to know and deliver it in a style that allows them to have a fun and an informed flutter.”
The initiative is the latest addition to The Sun's stable of sport and entertainment products, which includes Dream Team fantasy football game and Sun Bingo.
Sun Racing is sponsoring the 2019 Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham Festival, and the marketing campaign to support the app will roll out from today, with a focus on quality content marketing across The Sun and talkSPORT’s products and social channels.
David Robinson Managing Director of The Sun said: “Sun Racing has already engaged a strong following of race goers with its unique approach to horse racing, day-in-day-out scoops, pithy analysis and bite-size tips. We have sought-after reach, high quality content and now, a market-leading betting product.”
The app is available to download in the Apple iOS store.
