The winners of the second News UK Motor Awards, sponsored by Bridgestone Tyres, were announced last night at an exclusive gala awards ceremony held at The News Building at London Bridge.
The awards recognise innovation across all motoring segments from luxury to LCVs, city cars and SUVs and are judged by readers and listeners as well as automotive journalists across The Times, The Sunday Times, The Sun and talkSPORT.
Over 270,000 reader votes were cast, choosing from shortlists selected by our motoring experts.
Jeremy Clarkson, key reviewer for The Sunday Times and presenter of The Grand Tour, named his SuperCar of the Year as the Ferrari Pista and his People’s Car of the Year as the Bentley Continental GT V8. Guy Martin, motorcycle racer turned television presenter, was named Motoring Personality of the Year. Other winners include the Porsche 911, which was named The Sunday Times Car of the Year, and the Land Rover Defender, which was named The Sun Car of the Year. All winners will be featured tomorrow in The Sun and The Sunday Times Magazine and The Sun on Sunday on 6th October.
Rob Walsh, Motors Category Director, News UK, said: “Our collective audiences and expert journalists know their cars inside and out, making our winners the deserved victors in their respective categories.
