Virgin Radio today announces Giovanna Fletcher, Sharleen Spiteri and Gaby Roslin are set to become guest hosts of Kate Lawler’s Virgin Radio UK weekday Drive Time slot, whilst Kate is on maternity leave with her new baby girl Noa.
I’m A Celebrity’s first ever ‘Queen of the Castle’, Giovanna Fletcher, will be covering Kate’s Drive show from the 1st to the 12th of March. As well as Giovanna, lead singer of rock band Texas, Sharleen Spiteri, will be in the hot seat for a two-week tour between the 15th and the 26th of March, while TV presenter Gaby Roslin will be taking over the reins in April.
Giovanna is well known for hosting the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast – an audio show which featured The Duchess of Cambridge’s first-ever podcast interview last year. The 36-year-old mother of three is a best-selling author, having written 11 novels and topped The Sunday Times Bestsellers List as well as hosting the CBeebies TV show The Baby Club.
Giovanna said: “I love listening to Kate’s Drive time show and I know listeners will be missing her. It’s such a privilege to step into her shoes. Music is more important than ever to lift everyone’s mood and I’m happy to be pumping on the tunes on Virgin for a couple of weeks.”
Sharleen Spiteri said: “Kate’s a great broadcaster, so I hope to do her show justice. I’m excited to get my own stint behind the microphone whilst also keeping her seat warm. We all need a little hope right now, and I will try to do just that when sitting in for Kate - it’s going to be fun.”
Gaby Roslin said: “Virgin Radio has always been the go to place for great music that lifts the spirits and brings joy. I love being on as a regular guest so I'm delighted to be keeping the lovely Kate’s seat warm for her. I look forward to us all dancing and singing along together. It’s going to be a blast!”
Virgin Radio UK Content Director Mike Cass added: “At Virgin Radio, we know the importance of great music and great company. Which is why I’m delighted that we’ve lured Giovanna, Sharleen and Gaby into the hot seat while Kate is away. Drive Time is a focal point in our schedule and we couldn’t be happier to get these three talented women to front the show.”
You can listen to Virgin Radio UK Drive on weekdays from 4pm-7pm.
