A News UK-led newspaper home delivery initiative landed an industry accolade last night (Wednesday).
Deliver My Newspaper received the Innovation of the Year gong at the NFRN (National Federation of Retail Newsagents) Awards at the Royal Lancaster London Hotel.
The initiative is based on the success of the Deliver My Sun and Deliver My Times websites.
News UK then took the decision to launch Deliver My Newspaper to the wider industry, to bring consistency to home news delivery and a simple process that would benefit publishers, retailers and customers.
There are 9,500 retailers who offer this service and the aim, using the News UK field team, is to map all postcodes across the country to their closest newsagent. This is the most comprehensive view of the UK network that exists.
News UK Head of Retail Marketing Chris Hughes said: “Home news delivery is an important service provided by the retailers that we supply, News UK’s commitment to make it as easy as possible for a customer to access this continues to pay dividends and this initiative that we have led has been extremely well-received across the industry.”
