Anna Murphy explains her fashion vision for The Times

ANNA MURPHYAnna Murphy, who has recently taken the helm of Fashion Director at The Times, has told Gorkana she’s thrilled to be leading such an esteemed team.

Murphy - who joined News UK in January after 10 years at The Sunday Telegraph - was lured to The Times for its digital innovation and believes The Times iPad app is the best around.

Murphy told Gorkana that, as a journalist who values quality over quantity, The Times felt like a natural fit.

I want The Times fashion content to be useful and practical; to help you work out what you want to buy, and where best to buy it. I also want it to be inspiring and entertaining. Fashion, unlike many facets of the world today, is anything but grey (unless grey is in this season, of course). I am here to bring it to life, in all its brilliance and all its bonkers-ness, to celebrate it but also, when necessary, to take it to task.

Murphy says her main priorities are building and nurturing key industry contacts, engaging audiences through her weekly column and bringing readers the very latest in news direct from the runways.

With numerous projects on the horizon for 2015, Murphy says she’s looking forward to giving readers user-friendly fashion guidance that informs, entertains and delights. Click here for the full article.
