Lay a bit of context on that?
Having completed The Sun trainee scheme and placement on Fabulous Mag and the newspaper’s Showbiz desk, I’m now part of Sally Land’s new Dear Deidre team. I’m also helping to develop ideas on how to grow our digital presence and updating our support packs.
What attracted you to the role in the first place?
I have always wanted my writing to help people whether that’s through offering some escapism or giving out advice. Offering my insight on people’s family drama and sex life counts, right?
What’s the most interesting/challenging part of your job?
Finding new sources of support for our readers. Who knew Instagram had so many hidden gems?
What are the three most important things on your working agenda today?
- Evaluating our support packs – what else can we offer and what needs updating?
- Online research for our Menopause Problems and Anxiety guides.
- Drafting content to post on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Everything’s an opportunity, so just say yes.
What one bit of advice would you give someone wanting to do your job?
No one will ever like all your ideas, so you might as well chuck them all out there (I’m still learning to follow this too).
Tell us something not many people know about you…?
I’m learning the Alto Sax.
