Kathryn Anastasi is Head of Live Sport at talkSPORT.
1. What do you do?
I manage all of the talkSPORT network’s live sport broadcasts.
2. What does that mean?
Whenever talkSPORT or talkSPORT2 go on the road, to a live sporting event or to a sponsored show, I make sure that everything that needs to happen for us to get on air successfully, is done. There’s a lot of planning and logistics involved and it involves working with all departments across the business, commercial clients, sporting bodies and talent. It’s a very varied job, and I never know who I am going to be working with, or where I am going to be in the world, from one week to the next.
3. What’s the most interesting part of your job?
No one day is the same and I’ve been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places and watch some amazing sport. I love putting together big projects like the World Cup in Russia and seeing it all come together once we get going. I find the travel fascinating and really enjoy working with so many different people all over the world.
4. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
I actually heard this at a conference recently, but it really resonated. Don’t be afraid to make people uncomfortable.
