Oliver Shah appointed Business Editor of The Sunday Times

Oliver Shah, award-winning City Editor of The Sunday Times, has been promoted to Business Editor.

Shah, who as retail correspondent relentlessly pursued the unravelling of BHS, one of the biggest corporate scandals in recent years, will also shortly publish his book Damaged Goods: the inside story of Sir Philip Green, the collapse of BHS and the death of the High Street.

Shah was named business journalist of the year for his investigation into Sir Philip Green’s £1 sale of BHS at both the 2017 Press Awards and the 2017 London Press Club Awards.

The Press Award judges described it as ‘the standout business story of the year’ and said that his ‘bravery [and] doggedness… brought the whole BHS affair to the public consciousness’.

Martin Ivens, Editor of The Sunday Times, said: “Oliver is a courageous journalist, with a nose for scoops. The best is yet to come.”

Oliver Shah said: "I am excited and honoured to take on the best job in business journalism, and I look forward to helping deliver the ground-breaking investigations, scoops and in-depth features our readers love."

Oliver will take up his post later this summer.
