Sun Savers launches in The Scottish Sun tomorrow (Saturday, 4 March) – a brand new loyalty club which will give readers £5 cash for every 28 papers they buy: around a fiver a month just for picking up their favourite paper. In addition, if people join this weekend a £1 bonus will be paid straight into their Sun Savers account. It's the richest loyalty scheme in the country and rewards readers with cash, so they can spend the money on whatever they choose.
The club is being launched with a brand new Sun Savers app and website (https://savers.thesun.co.uk) to make taking part really easy.
The launch will be supported in Saturday’s Scottish Sun with a front page promo and spread on pages 2-3, and there will be a daily Sun Savers editorial page which will provide top money saving and lifestyle tips, which will also feature in the Scottish Sun online.
There will be a blaze of publicity for the launch of Sun Savers in Glasgow City Centre on Saturday, as the club is promoted to busy shoppers in a high profile way.
The launch of Sun Savers follows the National Readership Survey (NRS PADD) monthly readership figures for January-December 2016 published on Wednesday. The Survey showed a whopping 64 per cent year-on-year increase for the Scottish Sun and Sun on Sunday to a monthly reach of 2.3 million, combining print and digital audiences. Overall, the figures for all News Scotland titles – publishers of the Scottish Sun and The Times and Sunday Times in Scotland – showed that, year-on-year, combined print and digital audiences increased by 56 per cent to a monthly reach of 2.5 million.
Announcing the Sun Savers scheme, Alan Muir, editor of the Scottish Sun, said:
Sun Savers is a fantastic club for our readers to join, and it couldn’t be simpler – get a fiver a month just for buying Scotland’s favourite newspaper every day. This new loyalty scheme – the richest in the country – is perfectly timed, coming hot on the heels of the fantastic figures last week showing a sharp rise in our audience.”
