News UK titles are cruising along

SUNNY OUTLOOK Captain Sthatis Gkoumas catches up with The Sun on the bridge of the Magellan

Sales of our titles are cruising along.

Special editions of The Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times are being printed on board a new cruise ship.

On the Tilbury-based Cruise and Maritime Voyages’ new flagship Magellan, passengers are buying our titles on a daily basis.

A three-month trial began at the start of April. Cruises are typically around 7-14 days and mainly visit the Nordic regions of Iceland and Norway.

News UK delivered a printer to the ship and trained staff how to download and print the special travel edition via PDF format. This edition is printed in a colour booklet form on A3 size, then folded to A4 and can be run off on a Toshiba device like the ones in News UK offices.

Passengers are able to order a copy of a title and have it delivered to their cabin on the day of the edition.

Our International Operations executive Tim Pritchard said:

“It’s great to have the opportunity to print on board the new flagship Magellan. It’s early days yet but sales are going well and we are confident that they will grow.”
