To absorb the news, work out the most pressing issues of the day, and argue to the editor why we need to cover them.

What has the lockdown taught you about wellbeing?

We need company.

Books, photos of those I love but can’t see, and virtual conversation.

How do you cope with stress?

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

It’s easy to use words to wound, and you must never do that.

What one bit of advice would you give someone wanting to do your job?

Read everything. General knowledge is vital.
