The Sun is launching this year’s Sunemployment Roadshow on Monday 1 July 2013 at Cardiff’s Parc Hotel by Thistle.
TV’s Jeremy Kyle will be joined by Business and Enterprise Minister, Michael Fallon; The Apprentice’s Michelle Dewberry and radio and TV presenter Jameela Jamil at the mammoth job fair.
As well as professional coaching and CV advice, there will be interview guidance on offer and job seekers will have the opportunity to discuss regional vacancies with local employers. Business giants offering hundreds of career choices include Barclays, BT, Screwfix, John Lewis and Travelodge.
This year’s Sunemployment is set to be the biggest and best yet with a record number of 40 firms taking part and almost 70,000 vacancies to be filled.
In 2012 more than 7,000 people attended and 1,000 job seekers were offered interviews; work trials and employment as a direct result of the roadshows.
Jeremy Kyle, who has hosted the roadshows since they began in 2010, says: “I’ve seen how joblessness can sap someone’s confidence. I’ve seen how long-term unemployment can suck the soul out of whole families. It’s high time we turned things around so that’s why I’m supporting this year’s Sunemployment Roadshows.
“The best thing about these events is that people do get hired. On the spot, there and then. Come well-presented and armed with that all-important good attitude and you’re in with a shout.”
Jane Hamilton, Sunemployment Editor says: "Each week the Sun's Sunemployment page highlights the latest jobs available around the country, but the Roadshows are extra special as it's the fastest way for employers to take their jobs to Sun readers.”
Radio DJ, Jameela Jamil, says: “Today’s job market is extremely tough, but thousands of people have landed great jobs with firms involved in the Sunemployment campaign. You don’t necessarily need lots of experience, just a willingness to learn and the right attitude.”
