Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg to speak at exclusive Times event

Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg will be speaking at an exclusive Times event tomorrow.

Sheryl will be in conversation with The Sunday Times associate editor and columnist Camilla Cavendish on Tuesday, April 16 in London where she will answer questions from the audience and talk about her new book Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead, which was serialised in The Times last month.

Tickets for the event, which is exclusive to Times+ members (subscribers to The Times and The Sunday Times), have sold out, but as a UK exclusive, audiences around the world will be able to watch it live and for free on the Times website. They also have the opportunity to ask Sheryl questions, from advice on how to be a successful woman within the technology industry to finding the perfect work/life balance. They can simply send their question on the night using the hashtag #SandbergTimesLive

As well as being the COO of Facebook, Sheryl is eighth on Fortune’s list of ‘The 50 Most Powerful Women in Business’. Lean In offers her insights on women, work, family and ambition.

Lean In was developed from Sheryl’s provocative and widely-viewed 2010 TED talk where she expressed concern that progress for women in achieving leading positions in business and government has stalled.

In her two decades in the professional world, Sheryl has watched talented women pull back from their careers over and over in response to obstacles both internal and external. Lean In examines these obstacles and offers advice to help overcome them. She urges women to sit at the table, seek challenges, take risks and pursue their goals enthusiastically. She encourages them to think big and support each other.

The Times will be live streaming this event on its website from 7.15pm on Tuesday, April 16, at thetimes.co.uk/sandberglive
